SEO Ahmedabad : Learn & Share All About SEO

Hello Friends,

Hope all my Indian fellow readers have enjoyed the “Navratri” (Known as an Indian Dance Festival for 9 days) ended with a long weekend off from the work 🙂

Again, M back @ my work & was checking up with the updates in the last 3 days in SEO industry. I have come across a new Google service – Product Search Merchant Center. SO, I would like to share few thoughts about the same.

Google Introduced New Google Product Search Merchant Center

Recently, Google unveiled its new Product Search Merchant Center, basically a replacement of Google’s old comparison shopping services, Google Base. The new interface of Product Search Merchant center is more like Google base but with some improved visual navigation. Google has shared this news on his official Google Base blog. Also, the Big Mouth Media has shared this news on their site.

“If you submit products to Google, Google Merchant Center is now the place to upload your feeds, check on the status of your items, and get information on the performance of your listings.”

But this will not totally roll out the Google base, as Google base will still be available for the unstructured data that’s is non-product items.

“For any non-product items you’ve submitted to Google Base, those will remain there and you can continue using Google Base to manage those items and settings.”

Not only the new services but Google has decided to start a separate blog for these new services as well. Google has started its new blog for Google Merchant Center. This blog will replace the old Google base blog, so Google base blog will be discontinued & Google requested all the users to update the bookmarks for new Google Search Merchant blog.

Google has claimed that this new services will be more optimized & provide more detailed information on your products listing. So those wanting to ensure their product listings are receiving the maximum exposure and latest input will be encouraged to make the move to the Merchant Center. Then again, it seems like having a retail focused version of AdWords with this Product Search merchant center integrated into it would make more sense.

Has anybody tried this new Google Search Merchant services offered by Google? How’s your working experience with this tool? Have you found any improvements or just the same services with improved visual navigation?

Awaiting to see your responses in the comments 🙂
